New Look 6808#2
Here is the second version of this top that I made, it sewed up like a dream compared to the original gingham version. This cotton is a lot more suitable for the pattern and has a bit of stretch in it, so I eliminated the back darts so I could pull it on over my head and leave out the zipper completely. I also took a lot of length out of it, as this pattern is strangely long. I was going to put a red bow on the edge, but it looked fairly emo, so I found this pretty trim in my stash and just sewed it straight around the edges of the sleeves and collar and it worked fabulously! No fancy hidden seams here, ha. This is my favourite part of sewing, adding a little somethin' somethin' at the end to make it unique. But I need to control that urge to put ribbons/piping/bows/trims on everything, because it sure is tempting...
